Based within the Colne Valley near Huddersfield, Slaithwaite Guitar School is fast gaining a reputation as the place to learn how to play the guitar. Established in 2005, Slaithwaite Guitar School offers quality tailor made guitar lessons in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Learn what you want at your own pace. Lessons can be planned to individual student's needs - learn a few chords, a favourite song or to play and perform to the very highest standards. Slaithwaite Guitar School features a vast music reference library enabling all musical styles to be catered for... no boring lessons here!
An invaluable asset to the school is a state of the art recording studio that allows students to record their playing. Playing along to recorded backing tracks greatly enhances the learning curve. It shows the students how instruments work together and how attainable producing a piece of music can be with a few simple guidelines. Many students compose and record their own music onto CD on a regular basis. It's an excellent way to monitor progression in their playing.
The school is fully CRB checked and all ages/abilities are welcome. Lessons can be one to one or groups of up to three taken weekly, fortnightly, block booked or even a one off to brush up on your technique. The Guitar School also hosts an annual concert night where all students can have the opportunity to perform in a live environment. Full P.A, amplifiers, lights and a professional house band are all on offer to contribute to a quality night. For many students, the concert is the best way to demonstrate their hard work and dedication to themselves, peers, friends and family.
About Dave
Owner Dave Whitaker is an established recording and performance artist with over 20 years experience as a guitarist/singer/songwriter. His music has been featured in the national music press and on BBC Radio 1. He has gigged extensively throughout the U.K, Europe, Asia and Australia. His current band, Groove Alliance... a smokin' guitar/drum/bass funksouljazzbluesrockadelic power trio, have enjoyed rave reviews and he also writes and produces for Voodoo Toddler music.
